Mothers United : June 4th, 2011 - Grape Creek Vineyards

I'm organizing a music festival for all the Volvo-driving soccer moms out there. "Mom Rock" is one of the most popular mainstream genres around and its fans deserve a gathering of the masses.

The festival will take place at the beautiful Grape Creek Vineyards in Fredericksburg, Texas. This will be no Lilith Fair. This will be a celebration for the rocking mothers of the world. These moms deserve to hear their favorite music live, not just in the kitchen while cooking dinner for the fam. I've hand-picked the best of the best and can't wait for this summertime event. Here's the line-up so far:

Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi could not be a more fitting headliner for Mothers United. He made his debut in the 80's, but secured a position as mom-rock royalty in the new millennium. His clean cut image and infectious pop hits will have the entire motherly audience weeping with desire.

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 spent no time screwing around. They went straight for the kill. Quintessential Mom Rock Bliss. The grooves will be in full bloom.

Train

Transcendental emotion. Train has some mega hits. Euphoria will be the minimum level of excitement during their set. Heaven's shining light of glory will be glistening over the stage throughout "Drops Of Jupiter." BAR-NONE.

Rob Thomas

Fleeing from his roots in Matchbox Twenty, Thomas took the mom-jams to the next level. His gateway began with "Smooth," the smash hit collaboration with Carlos Santana. Following that single's raging success, Rob integrated the same sensitive crowl into a more pop-rock setting. The result is dazzling.
WINE GLASSES IN THE AIR.

Vince Gill

A nice change of pace with one of mom-rock's most consistent torch carriers. He may not be as "hip and with it" as other artists on the bill, but the guy can stand and deliver. Nashville wouldn't be the same without him and neither would Mothers United.

Five For Fighting

Five For Fighting. The piano pop continues. This song was destined for ending montages on prime time sitcom melodramas throughout the early millennium. NEVER A WISH BETTER THAN THIS.

The Fray

Fantastic band to open the fest. The gates will open, The Fray will ignite.

Calling all mothers.
